EFT has been a remarkable healing tool for me personally. After years of soul searching and seeking help for persistent anxiety, limiting and negative beliefs, low self-worth/self-love, and a very loud and demanding inner critic. I have embarked on just about every journey to happiness and well-being. The strong decision to end the torment in my mind and to lessen the negative impact of earlier and negative situations that occurred in my life propelled me into: counseling, therapy, working with physics, energy healers, attending several personal growth seminars and reading numerous self-help books; you name it I have done it, or would be open to try it.

I have definitely benefited from all the time, effort, and money I have invested toward my personal growth and emotional freedom. However, not to long ago at my inner critic’s climax and when the disappointments of life hit me pretty hard. Feeling like I had the rug pulled from under my feet and I couldn’t seem to find relief. I was divinely guided to EFT/Tapping. The rest is history.

I got such great results and finally found a healing tool that had such great impact in supporting me in my personal struggles that I knew I needed to bring this remarkable healing tool to others. EFT can calm down and neutralize the anxious wanderings of the mind, that really like to distract us, lock us in procrastination and unhappiness, causing us to fret about the past and saturate us with fear about things in the future that may or may not even happen.

The beautiful thing about EFT is it can help turn down the volume of all this monkey mind chatter as well as soften grudges, taking away the need to blame other people or past experiences for our present circumstances. When you can get to the core of your emotional challenges and negative feelings and are ready to face them and name them, EFT/Tapping will assist you in ultimately clearing them. What is EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique)/Tapping
Emotional Freedom Technique was developed by Gary Craig and is based on the “Thought Field Therapy” of Roger Callahan. EFT is a healing tool that is used to clear any type of emotional conflict in our minds and in our bodies. It is a stress relief technique that combines modern psychology with some of the principles and theories from the ancient practice of Chinese Acupuncture.

It is referred to as Tapping because you are actually tapping with your finger tips on the acupuncture points that are located on the meridians on your face and your body while you are tuned into a problem that is bothering you and that you want to clear. Focusing on the problem sets up a disruption in the meridian system that is then cleared by the Tapping. Tapping can allow you to gain insight into how your mind and emotions influence your health, your energy, your vitality and ultimately your longevity.

Why Tap?
EFT Tapping PointsTapping gives you the power to learn from your emotions and be empowered by them, instead of being victimized by your emotions. It also allows you to really pin point what is happening when we are not feeling in flow, or not feeling very good about ourselves. When we are in this state of disharmony we generally just sort of stay there, feeling stuck, stressed, make a decision to check out, or just remain in a state of fear where or body begins to produce Cortisol (A stress hormone from the endocrine gland), which results in our “fight or flight” responses. As a result, and over time, this energy disruption can manifest in the form of physical pain, illness, or disease.

Chronic illness can also be caused by prolonged stress, so it is very important that we have the ability to manage it. When we are in stress mode, in that “fight or flight” reaction, we do what our subconscious minds tells us to in order to survive or be safe, again, all based on past events or experiences (usually between the ages of birth to 6 years old) when we developed our internal thoughts and feelings about ourselves and the world, all based on these experiences. EFT provides us with a powerful tool that allows us to access those subconscious beliefs, release the negative emotions they hold, and replace them with our desired state of being or belief that will bring about the change we want.

How EFT/Tapping Works
Gary Craig believes “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system”. So, the primary function of EFT is to release the disruptions in the energy systems by tapping on specific acupuncture points. When we deal with the stuck or conflicted emotions that show up in our life we provide relief and relaxation to the mind and the body.

With the Tapping procedure we get to the core place that we develop and hold emotional or physical symptoms which are in our energy systems. With Tapping we are clearing the core of the problem at an energetic level. So, Tapping clears the core of the problem, and that is why it can be used for a variety of issues.

New science and research is showing that the Amygdala, a small little part of the brain, which is basically our smoke alarm and has been shown to play a key role in the processing of our emotions. The Amygdala gets activated whenever we think or talk about a problem that we are really upset about. That is why when we are Tapping we must think about the problem so we can tap and relief it.

Research studies are showing that stimulating the Acupressure points that we use while Tapping calms down the center of the brain when we are thinking of something upsetting. So, it actually interrupts that typical reaction that we have that we refer to as the fight or flight mechanism that is built into our wiring. That is why some people refer to Tapping as a form of rewiring of the brain because you know longer have these dramatic reactions to a memory of a past event that use to be upsetting for you. So, Tapping seems to reprogram how the brain and body act and react.
