Reflect, ponder, pray, meditate, walk, take time for yourself and affirm all the goodness around you and in your life by connecting with nature. I must say walking and connecting with nature is one of my favorite things to do to nourish my soul. It is definitely the best medicine for me physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Taking five, ten, twenty minutes, whatever window of time you have to connect with nature can make a huge impact on how you feel on every level, and how you view life.
Physically, it feels good to get your body moving, your blood pumping and flowing thru your body and arousing all of the trillions of cells that comprise it. It is so beneficial to recognize your body as a wondrous and magnificent machine and to appreciate it by moving it and affirming it. I know sometimes I take my body for granted, not really considering all that it does for me every second of every day. When I get out and move and walk in nature I love to take time to affirm how blessed I am to be able to walk, stretch and breathe in all of the goodness that surrounds me.
Mentally, there is nothing like fresh air filled with negative ions to clear any mental fog or haze that you could be wrestling with from all of the events of our busy lives. These odorless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in nature filled environments are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase our levels of serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy. Negative ions definitely create positive vibes and also allow you to become more mindful of some of the mental chatter that can be going on in your brain that isn’t necessarily supporting you.
On an emotional level, I love and really appreciate the tranquillity that nature provides. Sometimes I can get so caught up in my monkey mind that too much mental chatter can start to take a toll on me emotionally. Whenever I lose that connection to flow and ease, it is always a signal for me to get outside and “walk it out!” Nature allows me to get in touch with my emotions and to reflect on why I may be experiencing the not so pleasant ones. The simplicity of nature with all of its beauty and wonder reminds me that I don’t need to get so weighed down by life at times. Some of the negative emotions I can be experiencing really are not that serious and detrimental as my monkey mind tricks me into believing. The certainty and wholesomeness of nature is always one of my greatest reminders.
What I love so much about nature is that I can feel the presence of spirit all around me. Connecting to nature is always a spiritual experience for me. When I am out and surrounded by all of the beauty of nature I know that I am not alone. I feel the power and love of God and of life source energy, that in itself makes me feel so blessed and thankful. That knowingness allows me to feel loved, appreciated, supported and energized. I love to call in all of the angels, elementals and celestial beings that are always around, and just waiting for you to call on them for love and support. Trust me they will always show up for you. All you need to do is believe and look out for the signs and symbols they are always sending your way.
My beautiful friends, I invite you to get outside and connect with nature and take some time to honor youself. Give thanks to all that is and to the beauty that is always surrounding and supporting you. Just get out there and connect to nature even if it is freezing and gray :0, it is still a wonderful experience. Hug a tree, for real! It is the best free remedy for some instant grounding and centering. Nature never disappoints, especially when you are open and ready to receive. I would love to hear about your experiences with connecting to nature and some of the ways and places in which you like to reflect.
